A child’s family is his/her primary educator. As such, in addition to providing direct developmental intervention to the child, we seek to provide tools and resources for the families so we can walk with them on the stepping stones of their child’s development.
The DMI program utilizes a transdisciplinary play-based intervention approach that focuses on the whole child in collaboration with his/her family in the family’s natural environment working within their daily routine.
The purpose of natural environment intervention is to coordinate and deliver a custom-designed, individualized service plan of strategies which specifically address the developmental needs of each child and family within their natural setting.
Program curriculum has been created to provide exciting learning experiences for children and their families. The purpose of the curriculum is to allow children to engage in play activities at their own individual developmental level to promote sensory-motor, language/literacy, cognition, self-help, and social-emotional growth in a variety of settings that are natural and familiar to the child and his/her family.
